Reading Round-Up: May 2022

May has come to an end! Time to have a look at what I read/listened to this month :)

Physical Books

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (4.5 stars)

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (5 stars)

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas (4.5 stars)

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas (3.5 stars)

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas (5 stars)

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron (3 stars)

Total: 3,989 pages

This was the month of Sarah J. Maas for me! I gobbled up this series, and even though I read less physical books this month, I feel like I accomplished a good bit. Tower of Dawn took me a long time (for me) to read, but I had lots of other stuff going on at the same time. I've now finished all of the Maasiverse books (except The Assassin's Blade, the prequel to Throne of Glass) so I understand all the memes and text posts on Tumblr now!

Audiobooks

Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

House of Hades by Rick Riordan

Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody (5 stars)

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair (3.5 stars)

The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White (4 stars)

The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

I really enjoyed my audiobooks this month, with a total of 93 hours and 55 minutes listening (not including the parts I had to re-listen to because I fell asleep). Only three of these books were new to me - All of Us Villains, The Guinevere Deception, and A Touch of Darkness. I like to re-listen to audiobooks to fall asleep and because every time I do (just like re-reading) I pick up on something new or it just hits differently. I cried at completely different parts in the Heroes of Olympus books that I listened to than I did the last time I read them. I don't rate my re-listens so that's why they don't have star ratings.

June TBR

Some of the Book Tok people that I follow do a TBR (To Be Read) list at the beginning of the month and then check back with it at the end, so I'm going to try that this month too. It might help keep me accountable and also make it look like progress for my little instant-gratification brain.

5 audiobooks

10 books (though this totally depends on the library and availability there! I've got requests in so fingers crossed!)

3 re-reads/re-listens

Check back at the end of June to see how I did!
